For the first time in Europe, the museum has brought together a remarkable collection of works on paper by Paul Jacoulet made between 1920 and the late 1950s. With several main themes, this book invites the reader to discover the artist/ ethnographer's vision of the intimate "elsewhere" of the people he met, through images of tatoos and adornment. Extremely talented, Paul Jacoulet (1896-1960) was one of the last great masters of ukiyo-e, the Japanese art of woodblock printing.
