From Gallo-Roman Lutetia to the Middle Ages, from the seventeenth century to the present day, the city boasts an extraordinary architectural heritage. This book presents the capital's finest sites and monuments, including landmarks familiar the world over, from Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower to the more recent Louvre pyramid. Concise texts reveal the origins, creators and evolution of each monument, while at the same time providing all the practical information the visitor might need.
