Yann Tristant is Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia). As an archaeologist and protohistorian, his main field of research concerns the archaeology of Predynastic and Early Dynastic Egypt as well as the interrelations between humans and environment in the Nilotic context. As Director of the IFAO excavations at Abu Rawash and in the Wadi Araba, lie is also conducting geoarchaeological research in the Nile Delta and in Upper Egypt.
Matthieu Ghilardi is CNRS Research Fellow (CEREGE, UM34 & UMR 7330 CNRS, Aix-en-Provence). Geographer and geomorphologist, he is mainly interested in the Mediterranean islands (Corsica, Cyprus, Evia, Crete, Balearic Islands, Thasos and Sardinia). His research also focuses on the geoarchaeology of the main Mediterranean rivers, and in particular the Nile in the area of Karnak-Coptos.
