Eva had never enjoyed Halloween, not even when she was a kid, and as an adult, she was too busy with work to bother with the holiday. Not that the children who knocked at her door were that considerate, ignoring her attempts at writing her next book and begging her for candy. When someone rang at her door, that was what she expected to find on the other side, some kids begging for her attention.
