The complete highly secret correspondence of one Miss Elizabeth Bennet, and another, Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy, during quarantine lockdown of 1812; she from the confines of Hunsford Parsonage with the Collinses, he within the bounds of Rosings Park, with his Aunt, Lady Catherine de Bourgh, Cousin Anne and Colonel Fitzwilliam. As months pass, our esteemed couple-to-be unleash themselves with greater familiarity as tensions rise, old antipathies come to a head and feelings can no longer be restrained.. Praise for The Lizzy & Darcy Letters: Omnibus of Lizzy & Darcy in Lockdown and Lizzy & Darcy Unleashed"I loved this book; at times I even forgot I wasn't reading Jane Austen (and as a big fan of Jane Austen and an ex- English literature student that's saying a lot!)...the characterisation is exceptional.
There's a lightness of touch which makes you fall in love with them even more and realise they are meant to be together. Looking forward to reading the next one!" Claire, UK"It is very well written, I really felt as if I was spending time with Miss Bennet and Mr Darcy during lockdown. Could have been written by Jane Austen herself." Toni, UK"A delightful exchange of illicit letters between Elizabeth at Hunsford Parsonage and Darcy at Rosings.
It's the perfect way for ODC to get to know one another better... I greatly enjoyed it, and will definitely be keeping this one permanently. Highly recommended." JKom, USA"Taking something pertinent to today and putting it through the lens of beloved characters in another time and place gives the reader much to think on about current times. Readers should be aware that this story is all introspection on the situation that the characters find themselves in and how it effects themselves, others (and how they perceive themselves and others) and doesn't include an end to Darcy and Elizabeth's love story.
Knowing that... such a good read and I highly recommend!" Rachel C, USA"This official based story is wonderfully sweet, humorous, and picturesque. Do not get me wrong, I do not use the word picturesque as in describing scenery. Rather, I use the word picturesque In order to denote how skillfully the author uses words to paint images of the characters that are100% believable, humorous, and very true to life.
Believe me 5 stars are not enough, I am praying for a sequel." Amy Simeister, USA

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Joanna O’Connor

Joanna is an actor, producer and writer. An irrepressible romantic and lover of classic literature and social history, she has created original stage adaptations of Pride & Prejudice, The Brothers Karamazov, Far From the Madding Crowd, Our Mutual Friend, Wuthering Heights, Anna Karenina, Little Women, Great Expectations, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Tess of the d'Urbervilles, A Christmas Carol, Crime & Punishment and Much Ado About Salsa, a contemporary play based on Much Ado About Nothing.
During lockdown, she found herself wondering how Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy would have fared were they faced with similar circumstances and the idea for Lizzy & Darcy in Lockdown was born. She then completed Lizzy & Darcy Unleashed and has now released the two as an omnibus in The Lizzy & Darcy Letters. Joanna also co-runs Summer Light Theatre Company (YouTube @SummerLightTheatre) which offers full plays and filmed adaptations as free resources to students and anyone who loves theatre but doesn't get to see it live.
These include Anna Karenina, A Doll's House, The Bear, Crime & Punishment and The Brothers Karamazov. She lives with her partner James, close enough to London to be fun, but far enough to have plenty of beautiful countryside to roam in together. They both love travel, theatre & film and seem to attract furry friends in need of refuge.
