They agreed on how the system should be taught and the exact form of each of the four Reiki symbols. #4 The full history of Reiki was revealed in the late 1990s, when new information came from Japan. It was revealed that Dr. Usui had been a Buddhist priest, not a Christian priest, and that he had passed his complete teachings on to 17 people, not just Chujiro Hayashi.
