Songs of Assent

Simplicity. Receptivity. Wisdom. Confidence. Buoyancy. These are the Songs of Assent. In this book the church and her members are invited to listen to Mary as we learn to sing her spiritual melodies of "yes" in response to the Lord's abundant grace. Songs of Assent begins with the simple contours of Mary's "let it be to me according to your word, " and crescendos to her buoyant rejoinder, "do whatever he tells you." In Songs of Assent the whole church-men and women, person and congregation-is invited into a grace-filled response to God's loving initiative through biblical themes that are as contemporary as they are ancient, as daily as they are timeless.
