François Gilson a créé chez "Spirou" Garage Isidore, Mélusine, Cactus Club et La tribu des Epithètes. Il signe également les gags de Super-Mamie, Hervé T. T., Silence on tourne, ou Le Scrameustache : "Le bêtisier Galaxien"... Il est par ailleurs l'auteur de plusieurs livres pour enfants, nouvelles et dessins animés (Atout Spip). Chez Bamboo, il scénarise Les Vétos. Gilson and Clarke (born the same day, November 16, 1965!), both former art school students, earned their spurs in the comic strip world by creating the magazine Cafard together.
As a team, Gilson and Clarke discovered the charms of sorcery while launching Melusine in 1995.
