But of course, nothing is that easy. The simple pollution case she's investigating turns out to be more complicated that she had hoped, one of her exes returns to haunt her, and the cute water nymph barista she's been wooing might be unable to accept Io's fluid gender and intimidating family-just like so many others before her. Would anyone blame her if Io just started eating everyone who pissed her off? The Kraken's Cult series takes place in the same universe as the Gesa's Menagerie and Gods and Demons series, but with a new cast of characters.
This series takes place thirty years after the events in Gods and Demons, in a world where supes are (mostly) integrated with human society. While reading the previous series might give you a deeper experience or insight into side characters, Kraken's Cult is also able to be read as a standalone series. Author's Notes*Kraken's Cult books are longer novellas to shorter novels (40, 000-50, 000+) words.
They may or may not include cliff-hangers. Typically, one plot thread will be resolved or "resolved for now, " while others may continue to build throughout the series. There's none of that "book that ends abruptly in the middle and I'm gonna call it a novella" stuff.*Includes mentions of past trauma, including but not limited to: implied threat of sexual abuse as a minor, bullying, violence, emotional trauma.*So much swearing.
