I Cover My Head for the Lord!

Have you seen Christian women with head coverings and wondered why they choose to do so?  Paul wrote to the Corinthians, "every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head (1 Corinthians 11:1)."  If we have a personal relationship with Jesus, is there a time when we aren't praying or prophesying? In this children's book, a girl is thinking about covering her head.  Her mother began covering her head about a year ago after studying 1 Corinthians in her bible study group.  While considering if she should cover her head, the girl talks with her best friend, Sarah who wears a hijab.  She asked her friend, "Were you afraid to wear the hijab to school?"  Her friend said, "Yes, of course, but isn't it better to please God than to fit in?" Written for ages 6-8, "I Cover My Head for the Lord!" includes full-color illustrations. Carrie Scarr is a writer, illustrator, and YouTuber.
