There is nothing more shocking than an unbelievable promise. Dan Strauss is about to discover a guarantee for a better memory *if* he doesn't like what he reads and brings his book back. Bub, owner of Bub's Used and New books store in Manhattan makes this offer. Dan just wants a book to read for the summer at the request of his girlfriend who thinks "real books are sexy". The 'guarantee' is definitely too good to be true, but Dan decides what the hell and goes along with the gag and buys the book.
