Alexia Barrable is an early years educator with a passion for translating scientific research into practice, both in the classroom and at home. She has worked in schools in London and Athens, and has lectured at university level, for Dundee University. Her passion for the outdoors has always permeated her teaching practice. Since becoming a mum she has run a forest playgroup and written extensively on the importance of nature on a balanced childhood.
Her first book, Growing Up Happy focused on increasing children's happiness through a set of daily habits.
Dr Jenny Barnett is a neuroscientist and psychologist interested in the genetic and environmental causes of brain health and mental illness. Having trained at Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard universities, Jenny has authored more than 50 scientific publications on topics ranging from new treatments for schizophrenia to the economic impact of dementia.
She now works at the intersection of academic and industrial research, designing new technologies to help detect, diagnose and treat brain disorders. Her first book, Growing Up Happy, with Alexia Barrable, was published by Robinson in 2016.
