End of a New Life is the third and final book in the Heroes of Grant's Crossing trilogy. Two years into civilian life, Derek Mitchell now grappling with the PTSD from so many combat missions where he saved so many lives. Except that of his best friend. His way of dealing with his perceived shortcomings is to find solace in the bottle and intimate relationships that rarely, if ever, last longer than an evening. While his job hasn't yet suffered, he relives the nightmare of his final mission over and over again. After he hits rock bottom, his friends and family do their best to help him get the help he needs, but to no avail. After her grandfather's death, investigative journalist Callie Thomas inherits Brockmoor, a large, run-down Victorian home far away from where she's made a life for herself in the nation's capital. Needing time away after the death of her fiance, she relocates to the small town of Grant's Crossing, Ohio, taking up residence in a carriage house. In the combat veteran living next to her, she catches a glimpse of how challenging civilian life can be. Seeing the big house come back to life, can Callie team up with his friends to help him put his own life back together?
