No one expected the pandemic to sweep over the world, that from one moment to the next everyone had to stay at home for months, hoping for the virus to die out. Miya certainly hadn't, and she paid for that lack of preparation when she found herself thrown out the day her lease ended, the day before confinement started. Fortunately for her, she found refuge with her teacher. Miss Adams would love the companionship during a time where company would be scarce, and so long as Miya helped around the home, she could stay. Miya knew she was lucky, intended to be the best guest the other woman ever had.
