Damían Vargas is a middle-aged Brit of Mediterranean descent, who has been living in southern Spain for several years. Having worked for two decades in the digital entertainment sector, he is now working hard to establish himself as an author of dark psychological and crime thrillers. A particular trademark is the strong vein of sardonic humour that runs through his tales. He regards himself as a natural 'story-constructor' for whom 'writer's block' is an alien concept.
He has, since a young age, often entertained himself by constructing stories in his head. He does it on planes and trains, in cars, on beaches, in dull business meetings and, frequently, just to get to sleep. Making up a fictional story or scene has always come very naturally to him. Very often he features in these so, in a sense, they are often more 'personal fantasy' than fiction. He confesses to possessing more than a passing similarity to Walter Mitty in that respect.
Damían has an inexplicable fascination with the number '27' and an intense phobia of spiders.
