Ex libris delle montagne - Incisori di vette (Relié)

Every museum has its double. This is comprised of the collections that the visitor does not see, those in store or reserved for consultation. The Museo Nazionale della Montagna CAI-Torino is no exception. A world-renowned heritage is conserved in the Museum's Documentation Area - home to the Documentation Centre, to the Historical Film Library and Video Library, to CISDAE and to the CAI National Library.
This work aims to present to the public the most important pieces conserved in the Documentation Centre : film, tourist and commercial posters, alongside photographs, documents and collectables. The eighth volume in the series is devoted to ex libris, or bookplates, that were conceived to indicate the owner of the book, with a focus on moun-tain themes. The collection documents an iconographic journey engraved by renowned artists for famous owners, expert mountaineers or simple aficionados of the high lands.
This story can be discovered along a long journey, from the end of the sixteenth century to today, through the pages of this book.
