JENNINE CAPÓ CRUCET is the authorof four books, including the novel Make YourHome Among Strangers, which won theInternational Latino Book Award and wasnamed a New York Times Editors' Choicebook, and the multiple award-winning storycollection How to Leave Hialeah. Her essaycollection My Time Among the Whites: Notesfrom an Unfi nished Education, based on hercolumns in the New York Times, was longlistedfor the PEN Open Book Award.
She is aPEN/O. Henry Prize winner, and her writinghas appeared on PBS NewsHour, NPR, and inThe Atlantic, among other publications. Bornand raised in Miami to Cuban parents, shenow lives in North Carolina with her family.
