In this world there are the rescuers and the rescued. I have always fallen into the second category. When Louisiana's granny tells her they must leave town - now ! - to flee an ancient curse, Louisiana figures she will soon change her mind. After all, Granny can be very melodramatic. But Granny does not intend for them to return. Ever. Far away from her friends and everything she knows, Louisiana struggles to oppose the winds of fate and to find a way home.
Could it be that she is destined only for goodbyes ?

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de Kate DiCamillo

Kate DiCamillo is the beloved author of many books for young readers, including two Newbery Medal winners : The Tale of Despereaux and Flora & Ulysses : The Illuminated Adventures. She grew up in Florida and moved to Minnesota in her twenties, where homesickness and a bitter winter led her to write her first published novel, Because of Winn-Dixie. It was named a Newbery Honor Book and she followed it with many other award-winning novels, among them The Tiger Rising, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and The Magician's Elephant.
Her novel Raymie Nightingale tells the story of Louisiana Elefante's best friend Raymie, and is where Louisiana makes her first appearance. Kate was selected to be the US National Ambassador for Young People's Literature 2014-2015. Of that mission, and on the power of stories, she says, "When we read together, we connect. Together, we see the world. Together, we see one another". Kate now lives in Minneapolis.
