Eleven-year-old Dany has been on the run with their caretaker Marisa for two years--on the run from people who want to cut Dany apart and take their superpower. But now Marisa is dead, and consumed by grief, Dany only has one goal: to reach the small town of Suddence, a place holding secrets, answers, and most importantly, closure. With the help of recent college dropout Zahira, the duo embark on their strange little road trip.
