This story is part of Reading Champion, a series carefully linked to book bands to encourage independent reading skills, developed with Dr Sue Bodman and Glen Franklin of UCL Institute of Education (IOE). This book is aimed at Independent Reading 12, for readers aged 7 years old and up, or in the second half of Year 3. Tommy keeps framing Sam for bad behaviour at school, so the headmaster thinks Sam is a big troublemaker.
With a little help from a secretly magic apple, Sam and the headmaster swap bodies! Walking in each other's shoes (literally) they both learn valuable lessons. Reading Champion offers independent reading books for children to practise and reinforce their developing reading skills. Fantastic, original stories are accompanied by engaging artwork and a reading activity. Each book has been carefully graded so that it can be matched to a child's reading ability, encouraging reading for pleasure.
The Key Stage 2 Reading Champion Books are suggested for use as follows:Independent Reading 11: start of Year 3 or age 7+Independent Reading 12: end of Year 3 or age 7+Independent Reading 13: start of Year 4 or age 8+Independent Reading 14: end of Year 4 or age 8+Independent Reading 15: start of Year 5 or age 9+Independent Reading 16: end of Year 5 or age 9+Independent Reading 17: start of Year 6 or age 10+Independent Reading 18: end of Year 6 or age 10+

À propos des auteurs

Katie Dale had her first poem 'The Fate of The School Hamster' published in The Cadbury's Book of Children's Poetry, aged 8 and hasn't stopped writing since. On graduating, she went travelling through South-East Asia - only to discover whilst in a Vietnam internet cafe that she was a winner of the SCBWI 2008 Undiscovered Voices competition. Sarah is an illustrator living and working in between the dreamy spires of Oxford, UK.
She has always loved drawing, especially creating characters and scenes because she thinks people are endlessly fascinating and entertaining! Her illustrations usually start as hand-drawn line art in pen or pencil before working them up in Photoshop or Illustrator. When she's not in the studio, she likes being out in the Oxfordshire countryside with her friends, making screen prints and attempting some experimental vegan cooking, nearly always sound tracked to 6Music.
