In this erotic dystopian science fiction short story, people's minds are governed and controlled by the supercomputer known as Mother. People couple freely, and are comforted by suckling surrogate Mothers at state-sponsored paci centers. Charles, dissatisfied with his life, discovers a world unknown to the citizens of this world, and is set free. Mother is not so easily removed from his thoughts, however.
