This international symposium on snow and avalanches made it possible to create a meeting ground for encounters and exchanges between theoretical and applied scientists, to evaluate scientific research contributions to safety and to consider realistic applications in the field. Among the topics discussed: the evolution and physics of snow, avalanche modelling, wind-borne snow transport, etc.
