There, as he lay on his deathbed, about to depart, he urged his brother, to live above the rate of common Christianity. David Brainerd had done that himself in his life; he had not succumbed to just going with the flow.
He wanted to live to the glory of God. He was a man of intense prayer; a man of intense yearnings to see his adopted people trained in the scriptures.
