With a landscape of lakes, dramatic coastal scenery and dense forest, West Sweden is a year-round destination with something to entice every traveller. Come here to sample the freshest seafood from the region's cold, clear waters, hop on your bike to explore the enchanting Bohuslän coast, and hike through rugged mountains and pristine wilderness along the centuries-old Pilgrims' Trail. Take time, too, to visit handsome capital Gothenburg, relax over a traditional Swedish fika, and seek out the best beaches on the car-free islands of the Gothenburg archipelago.
Now in its third edition, Bradt's West Sweden remains the only standalone guide to this alluring corner of northern Europe, offering comprehensive tourist information on the region's highlights and hidden gems.

À propos de l'auteur

Biographie de James Proctor

James Proctor first travelled to West Sweden in 1986 and was smitten with Scandi-mania from the very outset - over the ensuing 30-plus years he's been back and forth ever since. Specialising in the Nordic countries, he has written a total of seven guidebooks, including one to the whole of Sweden as well as Bradt's Faroe Islands and Lapland guides. James speaks fluent Swedish, which Swedes (and most other people) find quite baffling.
Searching to understand why, they regularly ask whether he has a Swedish mother or father. Their incredulity only grows when they learn that he learnt Swedish by mistake - beginning when he attended the wrong lecture at university !
